What We Encourage
Project Submissions
- Share projects you've actually built or are actively working on
- Provide clear, honest descriptions of what your project does
- Include high-quality screenshots or demos
- Be transparent about the current state of your project
- Update your projects with new features and improvements
Community Interaction
- Give constructive feedback on other projects
- Ask thoughtful questions and engage in meaningful discussions
- Share your knowledge and help other makers
- Vote for projects you genuinely find interesting or useful
- Celebrate others' achievements and milestones
Professional Conduct
- Be respectful in all interactions
- Provide credit where credit is due
- Be open about collaborations and partnerships
- Handle disagreements professionally and constructively
What's Not Allowed
Prohibited Content
- Spam, duplicate, or low-effort submissions
- Projects that don't actually exist or are misleading
- Content that violates intellectual property rights
- Malicious software or harmful content
- Adult content or inappropriate material
- Political content or divisive topics unrelated to tech
Prohibited Behavior
- Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks
- Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or other characteristics
- Vote manipulation or fake engagement
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent rules
- Excessive self-promotion without community engagement
- Sharing personal information of others without consent
Gaming the System
- Using bots or automated tools to manipulate votes
- Coordinating vote brigades or artificial engagement
- Creating fake projects or misleading information
- Abusing the bump system or premium features
Best Practices for Engagement
Commenting Guidelines
- Be specific and constructive in your feedback
- Ask questions that help you understand the project better
- Share relevant experiences or suggestions
- Avoid generic comments like "Nice work!" without context
- Stay on topic and relevant to the project
Voting Etiquette
- Vote based on the quality and innovation of the project
- Consider the effort and execution, not just the idea
- Don't vote based on personal relationships or reciprocity
- Use votes to highlight projects that deserve more attention
Project Updates
- Keep your project information current and accurate
- Respond to comments and questions in a timely manner
- Share updates about new features or improvements
- Be transparent about any significant changes
Enforcement & Reporting
How We Enforce Guidelines
When guidelines are violated, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: First-time minor violations receive a friendly reminder
- Content Removal: Inappropriate content will be removed
- Account Suspension: Temporary suspension for repeated violations
- Permanent Ban: Severe or repeated violations may result in permanent removal
Reporting Violations
If you see content or behavior that violates our guidelines:
- Use the report button on projects or comments
- Email us at community@vibecodecafe.com
- Provide specific details about the violation
- Include screenshots or links when helpful
Appeals Process
If you believe your content was removed in error:
- Email appeals@vibecodecafe.com within 30 days
- Explain why you believe the action was incorrect
- Provide any relevant context or evidence
- We'll review and respond within 5 business days
